Special Opportunity for Students - Educational Conference in Brazil
Dear Colleagues,
First, introducing myself. I am brazilian and chair of the IEEE Students' Activites Committee. Golberi Ferreira, from the CEFET/SC and I are organizing an education conference next year. With the support of the IEEE Education Society and the IEEE Foundation, we are focusing on Latin American attendees and, for this reason, I would like to count on with your collaboration to spread this information on your countries. Please, take a look on the advertisement text below and the call for papers, that had the deadline for the extended abstract postponed for December 11th.

The teaching activity now is having a demand for new technologies that we
hadn't in the past. The e-learning activity has not been handled as a reallyeducational activity and it is not motivating students. Latin America is still behind some countries when we talk about technology, but many researches in this region have been followed worldwide as a model. For this reason, the ICBL conference will be held in Brazil, May/2007, to discuss engineering education milestones and challenges. This venue in Florianopolis will gather the most recognized researchers in a very pleasant atmosphere to discuss this important subject. We are now counting with your important participation.

For undergraduate and master's students, the conference will provide benefits and a special IEEE Student Track, supported by the IEEE Education Society and the IEEE Foundation. This is an excellent opportunity for a first presentation in an audience and to share ideas and expand your relationships. For more information about the IEEE Education Society, our
partner in this venue, and the Student Activities Committee, please visit

I am looking forward to see you all in Florianopolis next year!
With my best regards,
